Credits are the usage balance that powers unlocking on Playbooks. Every paid subscription includes a monthly credit allotment, and credits are only consumed when you unlock full source code or download a play. Browsing profiles, exploring taxonomy, interacting with demos, and previewing code remain free.
Paid plans are designed for people and teams who expect to use Playbooks regularly. They streamline access with monthly credits, discounted metered pricing beyond your included balance, and plan features that scale with more serious usage. If you're mostly browsing and evaluating plays, the Free plan is a good place to start.
Plays are priced in credits based on their scope and complexity. As a general rule, costs range from 1 to 20 credits depending on the type of play you are unlocking. You can evaluate a play through its profile, demo, and code preview before spending credits.
Yes for paid Pro plans. If you do not use your full monthly credit allotment, the unused balance rolls into the next billing cycle. The Free plan does not include rollover.
Seats are how team subscriptions are provisioned. If you want to invite five members into a team, you should first purchase five seats through billing and then send invitations from the team settings flow. Each active member uses one seat, and removing a member immediately frees that seat for someone else.
Yes. Students with a valid student email are eligible for 50% off any paid subscription, and we also offer volume discounts for larger teams. If you need a more tailored rollout with private infrastructure, SSO, or dedicated support, the Enterprise plan is the right path.
Yes. You can update your plan or seat count from billing, and those changes take effect immediately. Because subscriptions are closely tied to seats and usage, we do not delay plan changes to a later cycle.
If you cancel, your subscription will remain active through the current billing period and then fall back to the Free plan. You can continue using your paid features until the period ends, but after that your account will revert to Free-plan limits and access.
Playbooks uses the Ledger to track verified play activity and distribute creator earnings. The current model uses a 60/40 split in favor of creators, with transfers generated daily for verified accounts in good standing. To receive payouts, you must complete merchant setup through Stripe.
Every account gets a referral code that can be shared with friends, teammates, or your audience. When someone upgrades to a paid plan using your code, they receive $20 off and you receive a $20 credit on your invoice after their first paid invoice is processed. Referral rewards stack and can carry over into future billing cycles.
Playbooks uses Stripe for billing and payment processing. In practice, that means we support the major payment methods Stripe supports for your region, with credit cards being the default path for most customers.
Visit Settings > Billing to review your current plan, recent invoices, and payment history. You can open invoice details there and download copies for your records whenever you need them.
